This blog has been quiet as of late. And with good reason: I’ve been busy wrapping up my Masters in Bioethics at KU Leuven and settling into my job as a public affairs consultant at Acumen, Brussels’ most effective consultancy on EU health policy (but we also cover many other areas, including biotech).
I have just penned a blog (with some help from my colleague Paul Michaloux) on the biotech revolution and its potential contribution to European strategic autonomy. Briefly put, biotech can contribute massively to agriculture, industry, and health in Europe, while also making up for the Continent’s lack of many natural resources.
With CRISPR, synthetic biology, genomics, big data, and AI revolutionizing the field, policymakers in the United States and China are pushing to be at the cutting edge of the biotech wave. Now European policymakers are moving to take their own measures to keep up. Enjoy!
