This might be slightly off topic but maybe not completely. I recently read Calvin Coolidge's autobiography, which is short and interesting, in particular the parts related to his childhood and teenage years, and the intellectual influences he wanted to highlight. In any case, the educational canon in elite colleges and its evolution is probably a good source to assess the ideological evolution of the elites. Perhaps quantifiable even. In any case, I am pretty sure you will find the biography interesting, and maybe find ideas.

KMac smiles upon you.

Don't degenerate into petty liberalism; this story of individualism yielding variation and competition must be balanced on the Wilsonian multilevel-selection of cooperating groups outcompeting non-cooperative (hyperindividualistic?) groups. And how to balance group cooperation with inter-individual competition, ensuring that the group doesn't become stagnant?
